Their motto is Responsible Recycling Solutions and if you live in the Pacific Northwest; (Washington, Oregon, and Alaska) Total Reclaim offers wide variety of innovative environmental services for management of electronics and other hard-to-handle materials, including fluorescent lamps, refrigerant gases and appliances. The company offers computer recycling, as well as battery recycling and disposal.

Total Reclaim was started in 1990 and was created help industry and government agencies comply with the requirements of the 1990 Amendments to the Clean Air Act.
In 1991, The company opened a facility dedicated to decommissioning unwanted appliances called Refrigerant Reclaiming (you know, your busted up and outdated machines). This work involves the recovery of CFC, HCFC, or HFC refrigerant gases, removal of PCB capacitors and mercury switches, removal of compressor motors, draining of the compressor oils, recycling of all metals, and the proper management of any potentially hazardous materials generated.

I wish there was a service like this offered in Northeast PA. I am still trying to figure out where to dispose of my CFL (one actually got burnt out) and so a place like this would be ultra convenient. As stated on their website;

According to the EPA, over four billion pounds of e-waste was discarded in the United States in 2005, accounting for between 2% and 4% of the municipal solid waste stream. As much as 87.5% of this was incinerated or dumped in landfills. Only about 12.5% of the total was recycled
