I just got an e-mail from ThinkOutSideOfTheBottle.Org about a project they are doing today. If you are interested in participating scroll down to the bottom but find out why Watered Bottles are one of the biggest rip offs that exists today. I admit I used to buy tons and tons of watered bottle, infact that’s what I only drank for years!!! (Bad me) but I have seen the light and drink filtered tap water and it’s just as good. Here’s the letter from the Organization. Great information for you to think about.
Do you know where your bottled water comes from? Probably not, because bottled water corporations like Pepsi, Coke, and Nestlé are reluctant to disclose this information. Instead, they prefer to use misleading branding to undermine confidence in public water systems and shape consumers perceptions of bottled water without revealing information about the sources or sites of the water they bottle. For example, the most popular bottled water brand, Aquafina, is just processed tap water, despite the image of the snow-capped mountain that appears on every label. That’s right; you could get virtually the same water out of your own tap for free!
Join Corporate Accountability International’s Pepsi Day of Action! Ask Pepsi when they will remove the misleading mountain logo on the Aquafina label and become transparent about the sources of the water they bottle. Pepsi is paying attention to this: now we need your help to step up the pressure!
Think Outside the Bottle! Take action and join hundreds of people across the country in calling Pepsi today, in a joint Day of Action. Go to www.ThinkOutsideTheBottle.org for phone numbers and a script to help make your call faster and easier! After you call, please take a moment to let Corporate Accountability know what happened. You can report your phone calls by calling Campaign Headquarters at 800-688-8797 or by sending an e-mail to activistnetwork@StopCorpoateAbu
Corporate Accountability International is a membership based organization that for 30 years has been protecting people around the world from dangerous and irresponsible corporate practices. For more information on Corporate Accountability International, go to www.StopCorporateAbuse.org.

I was actually reading another blog about water and I was wondering to myself, why is water soooo expensive when you can get it in the sink! I mean, its great to have when you’re on the go, but I totally think it should be free if anything! I drink filtered water too. That’s crazy how Pepsi doesn’t give you info on their water.

I don’t live in America but in the UK bottled tap/table water generally says so. What I hate is that we have great water in Scotland but so much of the water bought in bottles comes from France.
I saw a John Pilger documentary about water and he talked about how Coca Cola have their coke made in India, which means water is coming out of their water supply and causing real problems for the local people.
I don’t know if that’s the same with your bottled water.
Anyway, I too drink filtered tap water.

It makes me sick to my tummy
I love to carry a bottle with me when I go out and I hate how it’s so expensive. Not only that…it’s really not very good for us.

I just read on the front page of Yahoo, that Aquafina bottles does not come from a spring as the bottle suggests, but from tap water. Here is a snippet from the yahoo article:
Pepsi’s Aquafina and Coca-Cola Co’s Dasani are both made from purified water sourced from public reservoirs, as opposed to Danone’s Evian or Nestle’s Poland Spring, so-called “spring waters,” shipped from specific locations the companies say have notably clean water.
Can you believe that? oh! man, what a farce. Atleast they are coming clean and being honest with the public.
Bottled water (from any brand) is huge problem, but thanxs to Al Gore and his movement, for shedding light on the waste and excess.
Good timing on the post.
Missy.

water is the best refreshing drink and most healthiest too, I would rather drink from a spring though than from my faucet.
