I am a former PC turned Apple MacBook junkie. The first big purchase I bought for myself was the MacBook in 2006 and I named her Mini-Star. She’s my window to the world and even EC has joked that I love the MacBook more than I love him or Abby. (Not true but I would have to say that the laptop would be one of things I would grab if there actually was a fire) This blog is fueled by coffee and Mini-Star, so you can understand the importance.Well, Apple has launched an Eco-friendly MacBook Air and it’s the hottest topic on the net at the moment… a totally coveted gadget that all the geeks as well as environmentalists are talking about. Did I mention that it’s great for the environment too? Some of the features include:
and it’s super slim and sleek. I am not in the market for a new laptop but if you are; this is worth checking out. Oh and remember not to dispose your laptop with your regular trash. Maybe you can donate it to school or charity? Check out the PC World’s article on Recycling Your Old Tech Gear. Or Earth911 for the nearest recycling center near you.

I really enjoy reading your blog, it always has great insight. But I am very frustrated with the fact that so few people are talking about presidential candidates and their thoughts on global warming. Now that it is down to just a few candidates I would think that this would be a bigger issue.
Live Earth just picked up this topic and put out an article ( http://www.liveearth.org/news.php ) live earth is also asking why the presidential candidates are not being solicited for their stance on the issue of the climate change. I just saw a poll on www.EarthLab.com that says people care a lot about what their next leader thinks of global warming. Does anyone know of another poll or other results about this subject?
Here is the page where I saw the EarthLab poll: http://www.earthlab.com/life.aspx. This is a pretty legit website; they are endorsed by Al Gore and the alliance for climate protection and they have a carbon footprint calculator. Does anyone have a strong opinion about this like I do? No matter what your political affiliation is or who you vote for this is an important issue for our environment, our economy and for homeland security.

Yes, I did name my Macbook.. she’s pretty special.. although I have to say the powercord is less than desirable. Apple needs to fix that.
I highly recommend Apple.. Once you get used to it.. it’s hard to go back to PC.. it’s really easy.. just have to learn it’s own lingo first
Adrian,
You bring up a very important point and yes, you are right.. even I have neglected to mention candidates that would actually do good for the environment. I guess I believe voting to such personal matter that I haven’t covered it much but I will try to look into it more and cover it as objectively as possible… but as you know.. when it comes to religion and politics.. objectivity goes totally out the window.
Thank you so much for your comments and readership. I know I have been slacking in keeping up posts. Hopefully I will be able to update more often. Your comments and insights are always appreciated.
