Help Conserve Trees by Signing Up for Electronic Billing Statements

// January 8th, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or you can get it delivered right to your Email. Thanks for visiting!

Every month, we would get tons of paper bills from different companies. Cell Phone bills alone waste 20 sheets of paper. I decided to make my life more simple and help conserve trees by signing up for electronic billing statements. So far I signed up for our bank statement, car insurance, car payment, electricity bill, cell phone bill, and we also have direct deposit set up.

Most companies will send an electronic bill to your email that you can view at your own convenience. You can even set up automatic payments with your bank and use less paper that way. In the long run, not only will you help conserve trees but help you save time too. All you need is an hour of your time to set everything up.

And if you decide to set up an online statement with your electric company, check out to see if they have information on your energy consumption. With couple of a questions, they can show you how you can conserve more energy and save on your bill. Many of the things you can do doesn’t cost any or very little money.

    Does anybody know about this site ( http://www.earthlab.com ) ? I have seen other environmental sites with carbon calculators like yahoo and tree huggers, but I am wondering what the deal with earthlab.com is? I saw they also published a list last month of the top ten greenest cities ( http://www.efficientenergy.org/Top-Ten-Green-Cities-in-the-United-States ). Does anyone know if this site is better than the others? Fill me in!

    I took their carbon foot print test and it was pretty interesting, they said that I put out 4.5 tons of carbon, does anyone know about any other tests?

    Love your blog!!! I’m not sure how I found it, but I’m glad I did.

    You say there are several Whole Food’s in NYC? We don’t even have one in OKC. However, Tulsa does. I so want one here! We do have Adkins(small)though.

    Have a great day!

    Definitely that’s a good idea! It will be easy for people to check out for their bill via email and if they allow for online payment would be better. It will e more convenient!

    Hi Susie,
    You’re doing great here. I would if it’s available but e-billing isn’t offered here in my place. :(

  7. Cold Play Groupie Says:

    That’s great idea! People should think some alternatives that could minimize the use of paper. With the fast development of the technology, I guess this idea will work well. Aside for the reason that it can minimize the use of paper, it will be convenient for people.

    I will support your cause.

    Its really a great idea. This will also make people convenient rather than having sheets of description
