Ecorazzi offers Eco-friendly celebrity gossip. They are quite witty with their captions and I enjoy getting a good dose of celebrities gone green from them. One of the Editors posted an entry about the Green Book by Elizabeth Rogers and Thomas Kostigen.

The Green Book offers green solutions for your life but also infuses stories from celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Robert Redford, Will Ferrell, Jennifer Aniston, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Martha Stewart, Tyra Banks, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Tiki Barber, Owen Wilson, and Justin Timberlake and how they make a difference to the environment. (Who knew that so many celebrities are Earth Friendly? You only hear about their excessive partying and love affairs)

Here’s a story that’s quite inspiring.

A conversation between award-winning architect William McDonough and actress Cameron Diaz. Both talk about what inspired their green ways; with Cameron sourcing lessons from her grandmother saying, “My grandmother raised her own livestock in her backyard. I watched her reuse tinfoil and plastic bags. She would make soap out of fat drippings off of the meat she cooked. Nothing went to waste. Everything was reused and recycled.”

Some of the tips that the authors offer are:

  • Don’t ask for ATM receipts. If everyone in the United States refused their receipts, it would save a roll of paper more than two billion feet long, or enough to circle the equator fifteen times!
  • Turn off the tap while you brush your teeth. You’ll conserve up to five gallons of water per day. Throughout the entire United States, the daily savings could add up to more water than is consumed every day in all of New York City.

I am looking forward to getting a copy of this book and getting all the dish on celebrities as well as getting some more sustainable living tips. You can never get enough of that. You can order it on Amazon to receive this Eco-friendly book now or wait until it hits the bookstores near you on June 19th.
