According to Tree Hugger, one of the leading online resources for the Eco-friendly living, United States consumers spent close to $40 billion on their lawns and gardens, and it is steadily increasing. (Jolly Green Girl is aware how dedicated some green thumbs are about their lawns ) Most of the plant food are made with synthetic chemicals that are very harmful not only to the environment but also to your family.
With TerraCycle Plant Food, there’s a way to maintain your beautiful and lush garden without sacrificing the Environment. TerraCycle was initially a science project created by two Princeton University students dubbed “The Worm Project”. Tom Szaky continued the project after he left school and TerraCycle was founded in 2001.
Visit the TerraCycle Website to learn more about this incredible project that is at the core of Eco-friendly Consumerism. You can also sign up for a free website if you are a garden thumb enthusiast. Also visit Tree Hugger. They have a wealth of information on anything Eco-friendly.

OK… this is about blogging…
On another note, I have decided to participate in Viralink (blog promotion)… at first I was hesitant to join because it doesn’t have much to do with the Environment, but I do need to promote the Jolly Green Girl movement. If you are a blogger, this might help you increase your authority with Technorati. So join in… Everyone I know who have participated have had success with it and so I am giving it a try.

Dear Dharma (I don’t know your real name),
I somehow bumped in to your blog/website. My eyes
caught the words: “I’d like to make the world a better
place.”
Many great and not-so-great men and women, including
scientists, religious Prophets, politicians,
environmentalists, artists, businesspeople, singers
and others and others…. have worked hard to make this
world a better place. What we see today is a result of
their efforts, some fulfilled and others left for us
to fulfil. We all are responsible, because IT’S OUR
WORLD and we have a right to be happy here. We can’t,
and shouldn’t, blame anybody because we have created
this world. So how do I protect this world, my home?
Simple.
Have you heard of the Butterfly Effect? It’s
scientifically proven that when a butterfly flaps its
wings in, say, Japan, chances are that it might rain
in California. How beautiful is the law of nature!
All I have to do is just sit and relax in my armchair!
Oops, you might fall over. But wait, the work starts
now. I make my mind calm like a pond and make it so
positive that my words and actions become a mirror,
more like a platform, for the world. I see my fellow
human beings with a pure vision and smile at myself
first.
And then, the world will begin to smile at me.
I can hear your question: “It’s easier said than
done.” Give it a try.
WHEN I CHANGE, THE WORLD CHANGES WITH ME
Take care, Dharma
Keep smiling

Thanks Vinay for taking the time to write me and letting me know of your thoughts.
I totally agree with you. I believe that we each have a responsibility to leave the world a better place. It can done in many ways. art, commerce, raising children to respect world they live in, to teach, to research. There are so many ways.
We can not be blind to the issues that is around us and become apathetic to it. That’s the worse crime to humanity in my eyes.. to be apathetic. I am glad that I found Jolly Green Girl as my outlet because although I had so much yearning to do something more.. I got caught up with my own life.. it can happen despite our best intentions. Anyways keep reading the Jolly Green Girl and keep letting me know your thoughts.

Eco-friendly Plant Food: how a million worms can make a big difference…
To make TerraCycle Plant Food, organic waste is fed to millions of earthworms which transform the waste into worm poop. The worm poop is liquefied and bottled in used soda bottles. Everything, from start to finish, is made from recycled materials….

Terracycle is a fabulous product. They really subscribe to the Cradle to Cradle ideology of making something sustainable throughout the entire process of production.
Another form of worm poop is the compost tea bag, see a review of one here: http://www.sustainlane.com/listing/W77X97JJ2PPAMDYSX1L9FFACR2SB. They come in concentrated bags and you soak them in water to make more worm poop for all of your plants. Think of it as worm poop kool-aid.
