Holy Crap… did I take a long extended break from blogging. Please excuse my absence but my bodily function hasn’t been the usual self and I felt that an alien life form had taken over my body… Anyways forget the CO2 from Automobiles and Fuel Jets.. what’s the real cause of Global Warming? The methane released from pregnant ladies… that’s what.

So I have received many green tips and products from different companies. Some are under review but some I will post on here for you to check out.

First off, I would like to direct my attention to an awesome green blogger who I love reading. Environmental Talk by Mark Jabo is one of my top three blogs I read daily. His approach on green living is certainly different from the other “green bloggers” but I really like his down to earth and hilarious accounts of greening his life. While at the same time, having doubts about Global Warming. Just read his post, That Worm and Fuzzy Feeling, Part I.

You know you are hitting it big time when Marie Claire sends you an article for you to consider. Although it’s the web version; I think it’s more insync with being Eco-friendly by using less paper. Check out the article, Whose Carbon Footprint Is The Smallest? Guess who is earth-friendly and whose carbon footprint is to blame for drowning polar bears and worse: Is it the mountain maven, the globe-trotter, or the urban hipster? It’s not who you think. How do you stack up?

Also check out EcoSafe, Biodegradable Plastic; they sent me a long e-mail about their product but haven’t had a chance to really look it over. However the concept is awesome. I know plastic is oh so convenient so perhaps banning them isn’t the answer. However making plastics biodegradable in less than carbon dating time is a huge plus in my eyes. I will do a feature on it once I delve into it more deeply.

Lol, some very weird pictures popped up in my head when I read this.

Here is a small sample of the side of the debate we almost never hear:
Appearing before the Commons Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development last year, Carleton University paleoclimatologist Professor Tim Patterson testified, “There is no meaningful correlation between CO2 levels and Earth’s temperature over this [geologic] time frame. In fact, when CO2 levels were over ten times higher than they are now, about 450 million years ago, the planet was in the depths of the absolute coldest period in the last half billion years.” Patterson asked the committee, “On the basis of this evidence, how could anyone still believe that the recent relatively small increase in CO2 levels would be the major cause of the past century’s modest warming?”

Hey Jolly Green Girl…I am thoroughly interestd in leaving behind a small carbon footprint and I felt you post hit right on something I just found out about. If you will indulge me for a moment, I’d like to share with you and your readers an wonderful new concept on the market.

It’s called the NW Modern from ideabox and the man who created this home was also the brains behind the e-rated appliances, the predecessor to the Department of Energy’s Engery Star Program.

Ideabox is sustainable and green in both building materials and construction. This energy efficient pre-fab home is wrapped up in a cool, modern design that is actually affordable!

For the environmentally responsible consumer this cabin is cool and sleek. I mean we’re talking living large here in 400 sq. feet of luxury in a clever high end pre-fab home with a very intelligent design.

The research I’ve done shows that ideabox uses environmentally friendly products and construction with wireless technologies. Designed with the idea that you can live large in a small space, ideabox is attracting very posh customers. And hey…less can be more! My family is considering it for a vacation home on some land at the lake or the beach. Another thought I have is putting it on my property for when the kids come home. Once you’re in college, staying right with mom is tough. This way, they can have space but still be “home”.

Here is some more information I found on how environmentally friendly ideabox is…

    · Wireless technology because power lines are SO last year.
    · Standing seam metal roofing – sustainable and fire retardant
    · Fiber-cement siding for low maintenance
    · Galvalume corrugated metal siding for an industrial look and efficient construction.
    · Bamboo flooring because it’s sleek and renewable
    · Energy Star appliances and lighting for the best in energy efficiency
    · Marmoleum countertops, made from renewable resources
    · Fully insulated walls for maximum energy efficiency
    · Energy-efficient ENERGY STAR labeled windows to regulate temperature
    · Less than 2% construction waste because materials are ordered to size
    · Low volatile organic compound paints for better, healthier indoor air
    · Duo-flush toilets for water efficiency
    · Day lighting; windows in all exterior walls and interior re-lite strategies
    · Tankless water heaters to reduce electricity use

I haven’t seen anything like this before! Have any of you? If you want more information about these homes you can visit www.ideabox.us.

I sincerely believe that the human race has lost its’ mind.
First it’s cows because they fart. Yes, I know how to spell flatulence. But wait - it’s not that it’s cows belching. In addition to cows, we’ve now discovered its elks as well. Duh. They’ve classified all ungulates as being the bastards who have wrecked havoc with our climate due to gas escaping from either end.
What do we do? Well, let’s get rid of all the ungulates - cattle, elephants, deer, elk, hippos, rhinoceros, horses, camels, llamas, gazelles, antelope - basically anything that eats plant material. They even classify whales as ungulates.
So, if we get rid of all animals that basically don’t eat meat, we should destroy all the vegans. I mean, it’s us meat eaters that are trying to save the planet, one cow at a time. And by destroying all the elephants, we’ll get rid of the poachers who are killing them for the ivory. No more elephants, no more ivory, no more poachers. Simple solution to a complex problem.
Our politicians have their finger on the pulse of what should be done. Recently an elected representative of our congress said, “Greenhouses gases are killing the penguins in the Arctic. Something has to be done to save the penguins!” Okay, I admit it - I killed all the penguins in the Arctic - it’s all my own fault. I’m sorry. Who elected this nut-job?
Has anyone in Congress heard of volcanoes? Do they know how much CO2 is spewed into the atmosphere from volcanoes each year?
And yes, it’s also pregnant ladies - well, it certainly isn’t from the pregnant men. Why don’t we pass a law that limits the number of children one can conceive. We could use a system, such as our existing lottery. The winner could then have a child. Just think of all the money that would go to the school systems. If it were run like our existing lottery, we’d probably be able to send and extra $2000 each month. And the winner should have to sign a contract in that she would only use cloth diapers - no more pampers, or huggies, or whatever. Cloth - the renewable fabric. Hey, let’s have a ban on all plastic diapers! What, you don’t want to be inconvenienced? Too bad, babe, do your part!
As far as the green ideabox - I’ve got an idea - let’s have everybody move into a 400 sq.ft. house. Do you realize that you could have the thrill of yur life by living in a space that’s 20′x20′. The first person who should move into one of these palaces is Al Gore. He might balk, but what the heck, it’s an inconvenient home.
Loved the video over at Mark Jabo’s.

Being green is no more a choice but a survival reaction. To survive, we are forced to turn green and eco-friendly.

    Hey, Susie:

Wow! what was up with that post from Morgan, wowza!. That was wild. You cracked me up with methane of pregnant women. Lately i’ve been surrounded by babies. My roommates friend had a baby last week (her first, a 10lb girl), and my little brother just had his first baby (a sweet girl, 7lbs) this week, Tuesday to be exact.

Babies everywhere. Maybe god is trying to give me a hint. hehe. Hope you’re well, and thanxs for dropping by my blog earlier.

    See ya around.
